Ankit joined EWB as a freshman looking to continue his commitment to serve the community and the world, which he swore to uphold through eight years of scouting, and chose the local project (Lewisdale Elementary School) in particular due to a strong passion for improving the education of underserved students. Since joining, Ankit primarily worked on the project’s pergola, an outdoor learning space envisioned to be a center for hands-on learning. Much of his contribution involves making Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and engineering drafts, as well as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations to ensure the safety of all using the space. Ankit was appointed Project Lead in the Fall 2023. Outside EWB, Ankit runs the Terraformers Mars Rover team, is an active member of Design Build Fly, researches Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) aircraft and is frequently seen “breaking ankles” at pickup soccer.
